Not a Good Bye, Just Another Day

Some endings arrive loudly. They come with speeches, countdowns, tears, and cameras waiting for the final moment. This wasn’t one of them.

Two days ago, Lucid served its final day at our little home on Jl. Raya Kampus Unud, Jimbaran. Yet if you had walked through the door that day without knowing anything, you probably would not have noticed that it was the last day at all. The coffee machine warmed up like it always did, ingredients were prepared in the kitchen, orders came in, plates went out, and conversations naturally filled the room. Everything simply carried on.

That was exactly what we wanted.

We were not trying to turn the day into a farewell ceremony or create a dramatic final scene. Lucid was never built on dramatic moments. It was built on ordinary ones — the kind of moments people often don’t realize are meaningful until much later.

For the past three years, Lucid has quietly grown through routines and small interactions. It lived in the morning regular who always ordered the same coffee. It lived in customers who first arrived as strangers and eventually became familiar faces. It lived in laughter from the kitchen during busy hours, in quiet afternoons, and in all the little moments that seem ordinary while they are happening.

Three years ago, this place was simply a space. It was walls, corners, and empty rooms waiting to become something. But over time, without us even realizing it, those walls slowly absorbed pieces of life. They witnessed birthdays and celebrations, difficult days and long conversations, friendships being formed, ideas coming to life, and moments of growth that shaped who we are today.

Somewhere along the journey, customers slowly stopped feeling like customers. Many became familiar faces, and many eventually became family.

Maybe that is why the final day felt so normal.

Because good memories rarely announce themselves while they are happening. Most of the time, they quietly become memories afterward.

So no, that day was never a goodbye. It was simply another day at Lucid — another morning, another cup of coffee, and another collection of memories.

Only this time, we are bringing them somewhere new.

See you at Puri Gading.

A new chapter is waiting.
