A Little Halloween, A Lot of Memories ๐ŸŽƒ

Sometimes, the best celebrations don’t need to be the biggest ones.

On October 31st, Lucid got a little darker, a little spookier, and a whole lot noisier as we welcomed families for our very first Lucid’s Little Halloween at our new home in Puri Gading, Jimbaran.

And somewhere between hidden pumpkins, hungry monsters, painted cookies and some seriously impressive little costumes, a simple Halloween evening turned into something we won’t forget anytime soon.

It Started With One Simple Idea

When we first planned Little Halloween, we didn’t want to create a huge or complicated event.

We simply asked ourselves: what would make Halloween genuinely fun for the kids while still giving parents a relaxed evening to enjoy together?

So we kept things very Lucid โ€” simple, playful and centred around spending time together.

The night began with our Little Spooks and Big Spooks arriving in costumes, from adorable little creatures to characters that clearly had a lot of preparation behind them. After a quick stop at our Halloween corner for photos, it was time for the real mischief to begin.

Ready, Set… Find Those Pumpkins! ๐ŸŽƒ

Ten little pumpkins had disappeared somewhere around Lucid.

The mission? Find three.

And apparently, telling a group of children that pumpkins are hiding somewhere inside a cafรฉ is all it takes to turn an ordinary evening into a very serious investigation.

Our Pumpkin Haunting sent little detectives searching around Lucid before moving on to Feed the Monsters, where three successful throws meant one very well-fed monster โ€” and, of course, a little treat for the successful monster feeder.

There were cheers. There were near misses. And there were definitely children who took the mission much more seriously than we expected.

Then Things Got… Creepy ๐Ÿช

Next came the Creepy Cookie Painting Challenge.

For 30 minutes, cookies became tiny Halloween canvases.

Some were spooky. Some were colourful. Some were wonderfully strange. And some probably made perfect sense only to the little artist who created them.

And that’s exactly how we wanted it.

There was no need for perfect cookies. The fun was seeing every child turn the same simple cookie into something completely their own โ€” before proudly taking their creation home at the end of the night.

When the Monsters Took Over the Floor ๐Ÿ‘ป

Of course, you can’t ask children to arrive in Halloween costumes and not give them a moment to show them off.

So the evening moved into our Costume Parade, followed by a few rounds of Monster Freeze.

Music on: little monsters dance.

Music off: FREEZE!

Simple?

Very.

Calm?

Not particularly. ๐Ÿ˜‚

But watching our Little Spooks and Big Spooks dance, pose, freeze and proudly show off their Halloween characters became one of those moments that captured exactly what the night was supposed to be about.

Kids being kids, and families enjoying it together.

And Yes, We Had Some Winners ๐Ÿ†

Our judges eventually had the difficult job of choosing winners from both our Little Spooks and Big Spooks for the Creepy Cookie Painting Challenge and Best Halloween Costume.

But the awards were never really meant to be the biggest part of the evening.

Because when the games were finished, the winners announced and the ice cream came out, we looked around Lucid and realised something.

The best part wasn’t any single activity.

It was seeing families gathered together, parents taking photos, children proudly carrying their cookies, costumes becoming slightly less tidy than when they arrived, and a cafรฉ full of laughter that sounded very different from an ordinary Friday night.

Maybe That’s What a Little Celebration Should Be

Little Halloween wasn’t designed to be a huge festival.

It was simply two hours, a handful of activities, some creativity, a few treats and families spending Halloween together.

But perhaps that’s exactly why it felt special.

Since moving to Puri Gading, we’ve wanted Lucid to become more than somewhere families stop by for breakfast, coffee or dinner. We want it to be a little part of the neighbourhood โ€” somewhere ordinary days can occasionally turn into something worth remembering.

Our first Little Halloween gave us a glimpse of what that can look like.

And we loved it.

This Was Only the First One ๐Ÿค

To every family who trusted us with your Halloween evening, and to every Little Spook and Big Spook who hunted, painted, danced, laughed and made a wonderfully spooky mess with us:

Thank you.

You made Lucid’s first Little Halloween much more memorable than we could have planned ourselves.

And to those who didn’t make it this time…

Don’t worry.

This was only our first little celebration.

There will be more seasons, more reasons to get together, and hopefully many more little memories waiting to be made at Lucid.

Until the next one. ๐Ÿ‘€
